CoE Lifecycle
Presence

In Workshop 2, we'll be designing how the CoE operates in practice — which governance activities it participates in, how often, and at what intensity.

To prepare, we need to understand where you think the CoE should be most and least involved across the product lifecycle.
How this connects: Your input will directly shape two things we design together in the workshop — the governance insertion map (where the CoE shows up in the lifecycle) and the operating rhythm (what the CoE does on a recurring basis, and how often).

Four levels of CoE involvement

You'll see 13 decision moments across the product lifecycle. Drag each card into the bucket that represents the level of involvement you think the CoE should have. There are no right answers — we want your instinct.

Observe

The CoE is aware this happens but isn't actively involved. It monitors from a distance.

Advise

The CoE provides guidance or recommendations when asked. The domain decides and acts.

Support

The CoE actively helps — preparing data, structuring discussions, coaching the team. The domain still owns the decision.

Challenge

The CoE has standing to formally question a decision or raise concerns. The domain still owns the decision, but the CoE actively tests assumptions and pushes for evidence.
